Prism Gauge
Using a prism gauge we accurately recorded exact height of cut. This also shows the quality of cut. (ripped or damaged blades of grass would be reflected in the prism.)
Soil Temp
Using a probe we recorded soil temperatures. Average temperatures are 4.5 Celsius, when this rises to 8+ Celsius for a period of at least 14 days consistent growth will begin.
Soil Profiling
Removing a cross section of the green allows us to see thatch levels of (40mm), after the wettest winter on record this is to be expected and will be reduced to (25mm) as the season progresses. Root depth is currently (100mm) A visual assessment of the soil profile looks positive.

Stimping
On Wednesday afternoon we 'stimped' the 4th,9th and 13th greens. The stimpmeter readings were an average of 9ft on each of the greens, indicating a consistent putting speed across all the surfaces.
